Home Banking Security : Any questions or concern you may have about Home Banking, E-Statements, or Bill Pay can be emailed to the credit union through the website contact page or you can telephone the credit union during normal banking hours. Remember to never send account information through email to anyone.
Telephone Safety : Remember, when telephoning the credit union, attain the number from the credit union contact page. Do not trust telephone numbers with access codes that are not known West Virginia access codes. Do not give complete account information to anyone on a telephone. The credit union would only ask for the last four digits of your social security number to identify you. No other information should be given to anyone on a telephone conversation.
IMPORTANT NOTICES! : Attention WVUCU Members. Members and other WVU faculty, students and staff have been mass emailed a fraudulent letter asking for account information. Scammers have also sent fraudulent TEXT MESSAGES to members asking for sensitive member information! It is important for all members to act responsibly when such an email or text message is received:
1) Do not respond or follow directions in the email or message.
2) Delete the email or message.
3) Immediately alert WVUCU if you have given your private account information out.
Acting in such a responsible way will help to ensure the safety and privacy of your account information. Remember WVUCU will never contact its members through email or text messages! Never give your account information to any request no matter how legitimate it may look. If you have given your account information out please contact WVUCU immediately.

If you are traveling out of the country please contact WVUCU card services! To protect your accounts and investments we ask all card members to please contact WVUCU when planning travel outside of the USA.

4) Delete the email.

HOW TO DETECT PHISH:
1) Mouse over any links in the fraudulent email message: Notice the URL address points to an Internet address that is not WVUCU.com.

2) We do not recommend clicking on a link: If you clicked on a link your Web browser is taken to a fraudulent Web site that looks like it is part of the WVUCU Web site. Look at the address in the browser window: Notice the Web address your browser is viewing is not http://www.wvucu.com.

Internet crime is becoming more sophisticated. Information that is taken from Internet directories often includes home and work telephone numbers. Internet criminals are now using these gathered telephone numbers with automated telephone calling systems.
Remember: WVUCU will never contact its members through an automated telephone calling system! Never give your account information to any request no matter how legitimate it may appear. If you have given your account information out to a third party please contact WVUCU
immediately. Otherwise - do not respond to the message.
