STEPS TO TAKE IF YOU RECEIVE PHISH:

1) WVUCU will never contact you through email. Any and all attempts to contact you through email from WVUCU are fraudulent!

2) Do not respond or follow directions in the email.

3) Forward a copy of email to phish@wvucu.com as an attachment.

4) Delete the email.

5) Immediately alert WVUCU if you have given your private account information out. Acting in such a responsible way will help to ensure the safety and privacy of your account information.

Remember: WVUCU will never contact its members through email! Never give your account information to any request no matter how legitimate it may look. If you have given your account information out to a third party please contact WVUCU immediately.

HOW TO DETECT PHISH:

1) Mouse over any links in the fraudulent email message: Notice the URL address points to an Internet address that is not WVUCU.com.

2) We do not recommend clicking on a link: If you clicked on a link your Web browser is taken to a fraudulent Web site that looks like it is part of the WVUCU Web site. Look at the address in the browser window: Notice the Web address your browser is viewing is not http://www.wvucu.com.

STEPS TO TAKE IF YOU RECEIVE A PHONE CALL:

Internet crime is becoming more sophisticated. Information that is taken from Internet directories often includes home and work telephone numbers. Internet criminals are now using these gathered telephone numbers with automated telephone calling systems.

Remember: WVUCU will never contact its members through an automated telephone calling system! Never give your account information to any request no matter how legitimate it may appear. If you have given your account information out to a third party please contact WVUCU immediately. Otherwise - do not respond to the message.
