Share Certificates

Share Certificates are similar to Share Savings Accounts in that they are insured and thus virtually risk free. Both are insured up to $250,000 by the NCUA. Share Certificates are different from Share Savings in that the Share Certificate has a specific term and fixed rate. It is intended that the Share Certificate be held until maturity, at which time the funds may be withdrawn or renewed along with the accrued interest.

  • Terms range from 3 months to 3 years
  • Dividends earned at a fixed rate
  • Interest–only penalties
  • Auto–renewals
